We had such a great time on this tour! We've been to Chicago many times, but never would have ventured to these cute little neighborhoods. All the food was outstanding, the history was entertaining, and the local venues were worth revisiting. Can't recommend this tour highly enough!

This was the best food tour we have ever experienced. The mix of history, culture, and food made us feel as if we were part of the community. My daughter (19 yrs old) kept turning to me throughout the tour and saying "Mom, I can't believe how great this is. I'm so happy! Thank you!" I wish Phyllis did more tours so that we could take all of them.

Our Argyle and Andersonville food tour was exceptional. Phyllis was very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed the choice of food locations and the unique activity at Nha Hang Viet Nam roll your own summer roll! It was fun learning Swedish history in Andersonville and our stop at the Middle East Bakery was fantastic. We have been on many food tours in Chicago and New York City and Phyllis is one of the best!

This was a fun and informative food tour. I tried foods I've never had before. Phyllis was great! Small group walking food tour that involved me and my 4 sisters and a couple celebrating their anniversary. The tour started at a small Vietnamese family owned restaurant, Nha Hang Viet Nam. The owners were very friendly and the food was very good. The 2nd Vietnamese restaurant we visited was Ba Le Sandwiches where we tried Banh Mi sandwich. We then walked to Andersonville area and stopped at a Swedish Tavern, Simon's where we had samplings of swedish pancakes, meatballs and pickled herring. The pancakes and meatballs were very good but I have to admit, not a fan of the pickled herring. The Middle East Bakery had a variety of spices and food fare for purchase. We sampled hummus and individual spices. The hummus was some of the best I've ever tasted! The final stop was at First Slice Pie Cafe where we had a slice of apple pie. All along the way, Phyllis was telling us about the history of the Argyle and Andersonville areas as well as the history of the restaurants. This was a casual tour that was not rushed so felt we could really take our time with the experience. I really enjoyed this tour and am looking forward to another.

This tour lived up to it's name with and Intimate 3 1/2 hour tour highlighting several ethnic restaurants and bakeries in a very diverse and lively Chicago neighborhood. Our culinary-trained guide Phyllis not only knew where to find great food - she was a friend and resident within the community - respected among her peers and proud of its history. Our small group of 6 received very personalized attention, and were fed royally while strolling a wonderful area right off the RED LINE.

My friends and I had a blast on this walking tour with Phyllis. We wanted a way to see some parts of Chicago we otherwise would not have ventured. We also wanted an experience beyond chicago style pizza and hot dogs, which are great, but Chicago offers so much more. If you're a foodie, this is the tour to take. We made 7 stops, tried a variety of ethnicities, enjoyed the scenery and knowledgable tour of the area. We were exhausted by the time we finished, and took Phyllis' advice and ended the afternoon at the Green Mill enjoying some jazz and inexpensive drinks at the old Al Capone hang-out. This was truly one of the bests things we have done on a trip and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. An absolute must for all foodies!!!

We had a great walking tour with plenty to eat! Phyllis is kind and helpful, and has done her homework to explain the history of the eateries and some other interesting places along the way. Delicious and fun way to spend an early afternoon!
